Active substance Moxidectin 1 mg/ml Indication For the treatment and control of infections in sheep caused by parasites sensitive to moxidectin: Gastrointestinal worms (adult and immature): Haemonchus contortus (including the inhibited larvae), Ostertagia circumcincta (including the inhibited larvae), O. trifurcata, Trichostrongylus axei (including the inhibited larvae), T. colubriformus, T. vitrinus, Nematodirus battus, N. spathiger, N. filicollis (adult only), Strongyloides papillosus (larval stages only), Cooperia curticei (adult only), C. oncophora, Oesophagostomum colombianum, O. venulosum (adult only), Chabertia ovina, Trichuris ovis (adult only). Lungworms (adult): Dictyocaulus filaria. Sustained efficacy of the veterinary drug prevents reinfection: for 5 weeks at Ostertagia circumcincta and Haemonchus contortus. for 4 weeks at Oesophagostomum colombianum. Clinical studies done with experimental and natural infections show that the veterinary drug is effective against some benzimidazole resistant strains, as: Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcincta, Trichostrongylus colubriformis and Cooperia curticei. Contraindications None. Dosage Should be given as a single oral dose of 1 ml per 5 kg body weight, corresponding to 200 µg moxidectin per kg body weight, using a standard drenching agent. To ensure proper dosing, the body weight should be determined as accurately as possible; the accuracy of the dosing device should be checked. Do not mix with other veterinary drugs.
