Description Cover Fabric: Organic Cotton 100% GOTS Certified Made in India Inner Fabric: Organic Cotton 100% GOTS Certified Inner Filling: Japanese Buckwheat Hulls Finished in Japan Zen-Style Cushion “Ma” – Embracing Spacious Stillness A fundamental form for seated practice, rooted in tradition. This time-honored shape, long favored by Zen monks, naturally encourages an upright posture and a grounded, stable sitting position. Ideal for mindfulness and meditation, it helps you create a moment of “ma” —  a mindful pause  — to turn inward and reconnect with yourself. The more you use it, the more it conforms to your body, supporting deeper, calmer breathing and a sense of ease.         Characteristics of this product The “three-sided” buckwheat hulls are mostly used. They create space between them for better air flow. Thanks to its structure, it uses less buckwheat hulls but has more bulk and is as a result lighter.     Chemical Free Finely selected Japanese grown buckwheat hulls are heated in a kiln at about 100 ºC (212ºF) and microwave irradiation is used to kill insects and eggs attached to the buckwheat hulls. This process is good for our health and the environment because it kills insects, dehumidifies, and dries buckwheat hulls without the use of chemicals.       Usage Precautions Buckwheat hulls are not washable. Fine powder may be released during use. Dried buckwheat hulls can crack under strong pressure. Since buckwheat hulls are a natural plant material (the outer shell of buckwheat grains), they may lose height or volume over time due to friction or crushing during use. If you're concerned, you may remove all the buckwheat hulls, sift them, and put only the undamaged hulls back into the cushion. Storage and Handling Store the cushion in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. Avoid storing in humid or poorly ventilated places, as this may attract mites or other household pests to the buckwheat hulls. Regularly air the cushion in the sun to remove moisture after use. Please note that we do not accept returns if insects appear after use. If you experience any discomfort while using the cushion, stop using it immediately. The cover is removable and can be washed at home.     About Mori.Zen Sit in stillness. Just that — and the mind can feel so free. Mori.Zen is a brand created by skilled artisans to bring small moments of ma — a mindful pause — and inner harmony into your everyday life. The warmth of natural materials. Gentle forms that guide your breath. Always by your side in those quiet moments when you take a deep breath and feel your heart softly unwind. We choose materials that come from nature. Shapes that are kind to the body. Not made to follow trends, but to be cherished for years to come.     History of buckwheat pillows Natural "buckwheat hulls" have long been a common material for pillows in Japan. Generally, buckwheat hulls are what remains after buckwheat is harvested and dried in the sun for several days to remove the fruit. Because buckwheat hulls are a natural material, they absorb and dissipate moisture and are cool in the summer, making them popular among those familiar with their use. As soba became popular in Japan during the Edo period (1603-1867), people began to recycle and utilize the hulls, a byproduct of grinding the buckwheat into flour. This may have been the result of the wisdom and ingenuity of Edo society, where life as a whole was based on recycling.           Submit your reviewName: Email (Your email address will not be published.): Review Title: Rating: 12345Review:   Check this box to confirm you are human.Submit     CancelCreate your own reviewFuton TokyoAverage rating:   0 reviews
