In hot water even within a few seconds. The bag disappears within 6 months if for example ended up in the ocean (depending on water temperature, turbulence, salinity etc.) You can just walk with the bag in the rain because it only dissolves if it is permanently in the water or submerged. Capacity approx. 8 litres. The composition of polyvinyl alcohol is CH2-CH-OH and it splits when dissolved in water (H2O) and carbon (C).
